In the 7 seasons we've been in this league this has been the most repetitive and annoying phrase that's been used by so many people when talking about Barnsley FC. How the actual **** are we punching above our weight? Seriously.

    Come on

    Explain

I think it's based on budget and attendances etc. it does get a bit old though after a while, I have to agree.

Whether you finish 7th or 21st the fact of the matter is, come the end of the season your still in the division because you deserve to be. **** em, always prefer being the underdog.

last time i checked, maintainance and progression of a club's league standing was based on the ability of the team on the pitch. Anyone who says it about any team deserves a clout

    Often used in dismissive terms

But is of course the ultimate compliment. That's all a club can do really. I'd rather punch above our weight than be a sleeping giant or under-achiever. Some might see the potential to be 'massive' as a positive. In truth, it's an embarrassment.

As others have said, it's based on our budget - but at the end of the day football isn't played on paper and balance sheets so it does get a bit annoying.

Because you can't just post in the subject and leave the message empty therefore a full stop is added

It's because I'm on forum Runner so can't see the post title. That's why it makes no sense sorry

Interesting that Forum Runner users cannot see the title

because that would make a lot of posts nonsensical. Like this one.
