Crazy, when they've just got £62m for being on telly ! How will we ever compete with clubs that get a season in the Premier ?

Bournemouth fans will be asking why the release clause was so little.

He scored 22 goals with Rotherham and before that had a very poor scoring record.

A £3 million release clause, if it is £3 million, wasn't bad at the time he was signed.

That's what we should be getting for O'Grady.

According to a Bournemouth fan I know, it was at £1m but they managed to renegotiate his contract up to £3m.

we won't....especially while we are still in the pub league. First things first old chap, we need to get out of said alehouse league asap!!

Then Mario Kempes will sink his billions in to the club and we will progress to the cash rich, promised land of the premier league.

    easy peasy hth

I suppose though there is a slight difference, when comparing Stones to Grabban. Strikers always go for far more than their defensive colleagues, however I'm not saying that we got enough for Stones, I didnt at the time, although it was still a **** load of cash for a club like ours. Having said that, Flicker threw it all away in the mad 6 months that followed it.

Yep, I know what you mean. I can understand if we took £3m up front if we got sensible add ons. I am concerned about the add ons. He was a once in a decade (probably more) player that comes along. There is a good chance that he will be future england captain. That was not absolutely obvious when we sold him, but it wasn't unlikely - some people were suggesting such things and from seeing him play it was pretty clear he was an outstanding talent.

Therefore I am keen to know if we had that foresight when we structured the deal (suspect not). If we didn't, its criminal in my view. Yep Flickers use of that cash in hindsight, has been abysmal. Pederson looked like a cracking signing at first but his legs seem to be made of glass.

What narks me is we have had some real opportunities in recent years to push on as a club, had transfer deals been negotiated well. I don't see much evidence of that.

Do you think we have any hope of going up next year?

I agree with you completely. I think one of the reasons why there seems to be a lack of trust and respect for the powers that be over the last few years, has solely been down to the lack forward thinking in general but the poor way in which we have sold the club and its assets. We have become cheap, which is not a bad thing, look at Aldi, they are cheap but the product is generally pretty good and you get value for money. We offer neither at the moment.

The money we have got for our assets has been nothing short of appalling, when we got 3m for Stones I was actually quite surprised we got that much after the previous 3 for 1 offers we were giving only months before, however I felt we could have got more and I am still worried it was 3m, with add ons, I get the impression its less with a max of 3m when Stones plays for England, shags Miss World and is caught shagging hookers with Rooney.

To answer your question, about whether I think we will go up next year, I would like to think we will have a good crack at it, although summer recruitment is massively important and i think Danny will have his hands full in doing so. Could we do what Peterborough did and make the play offs, then yes, if we get the first bit right. My concern is though around budget, we should be one of the best supported clubs in the division next year, so should have one of the bigger budgets, draw of being a previous championship club when competing with the other clubs, but 50k per week is peanuts and would think that other clubs even in that division will have far more to spend. I really hope that PC digs deep and extends that a little to make us competitive, otherwise we might struggle.

I'm just waiting for the right time to take over. Are you still available to be the new CEO?
