Got told this today off someone who didn't know the answer herself and it is bugging me lol. Anyway here is the puzzle.........
3 guys all have ten pound each. They go into a shop and buy something for a combined 30 pounds with all the money. The shop manager decides he will save them a fiver but instead gives them all only a pound each so keeps 2 pounds for himself.

    10 - 1 = 9
    10 - 1 = 9
    10 - 1 = 9

That is 27 and the manager as two pounds as well. So where is the other pound from the 30 you start with gone to ?

    Would it be?

    The total cost is £25 rather than £30 so if he keeps £2 and gives them £1 each then there isn't a spare £1 as £25 + £2 + £3 = £30

Just in case Dean Windass isn't around to answer you

The £2 the manager has is part of the £27 that they paid for it.......£25 plus the £2 the manager spent. That leaves £3 divided between the 3 men.

Could Be Right But Here Is One I Know The Answer To.

In one room is three lights dangling from the ceiling. The switches for these lights are in the next room and you can only go into the lights room once. How do you know which light switch is for what light in the other room by only making one journey ?

Quite why you would only be able to make one journey I don't know!

But.................turn one switch on, leave for 10 mins. Turn it off, turn another on. Go into room....light on is the 2nd switch you tried, one of the other bulbs will be warm which will be first switch you tried. Leaving the other bulb to be the other switch. Unless the wiring was done by the guy who did my house in which case it's anyones guess!

    My puzzle

A man is in a solid steel box, with no way out whatsoever, and a short supply of air. The only thing in the box is one piece of wood and a saw (which cannot cut the steel), how does the man get out?

this one would not really work, it's a bad joke really, it's a play on words, so don't try coming up with actual ways this guy could escape. Clue: the answer is a bit mathematical

there will also be one of my trivia quizzes later, which Kev normally takes a crack at, Nutkins is good too. If I can find the paper I wrote the questions on.
