Mark - the guy who was arrested - is a mate from uni, he's the nicest guy in the world. Sounds like a nightmare...

Can't see the hooligans getting much change out there though which is a positive.

I personally think that this farce of a World Cup should be boycotted. It's all about money (as usual). I won't be watching a single match. (although it is 7 years time, and if TTIP gets through we'll all be in the same boat as those poor Nepalese workers.

It's disgusting. Bare faced corruption. The FA should withdraw. Rumours abound that the Qatar government paid £23 billion in bribes.

Hasn't been any trouble with travelling hooliganism since the 2006 Finals in Germany. Germany had it run like clockwork (typical) and prevented the idiots getting into their country ..... Same with South Africa & Brazil (accepting the latter 2 had internal issues within their countries).

I've been to them all, will probably go to Russia BUT won't be going to Quatar!

The human rights issue is a joke in most of the middle east.

Giving it to a country like Russia was bad enough, but Qatar is a complete joke. Human rights is one issue, and another is a climate where you can fry eggs on the rocks. Unsuitable in every way, and stinks of corruption. Time now to kick FIFA into touch and boycott this black comedy.

Not just the FA but any country with some sense should withdraw and have a breakaway World Cup at the same time. I'm sure countries like Australia who should have got the WC ahead of Russia would be interested. Get the home nations involved and see how many of the bigger countries like Spain, Brazil etc want to join.

Russia will be awesome mate no matter what the press say. They all said that Poland and Ukraine would be a nightmare (and logistically it was!) but it was still absolutely brilliant. Russia is a football country and the local people will genuinely benefit from the much improved infrastructure.
