transport for london web site.sheppards bush(white city tube stop )south africa road near the BBC .
    FROM INTERNET FOOTBALL GROUND GUIDE,
    Top Of Page
How To Get There By Train/Tube
I tend to use Shepherds Bush tube station, simply because there seems to be more pubs around this area. There are in fact two Shepherds Bush tube stations, one on the Central Line and the other on the Hammersmith & City line. The latter is nearer to the ground which is about a ten minute walk. Leaving the tube station turn right and the ground will come into view further down on the right. Michael Howard a visiting Reading supporter recommends; 'White City Tube on Wood Lane (opposite the BBC Television Centre). It's nearer the ground and less people seem to use it on match day'. Please note that Queens Park tube station is nowhere near the ground!.

Jonathan Burt adds; 'the nearest train station to the ground is Kensington Olympia which can be
accessed via Watford or Clapham Junction. It is normally much quicker to get to the ground this way rather than using the tube line, it really cuts down the journey time. Olympia station is about 20 to 25 minutes walk away from the ground, or about 10 to 15 minutes walk away from Shepherds Bush Green.

When we went last season we saw the new Wembley so I'm guessing it's nowhere near the centre.

Dont listen to Johnathon Burt he's talking crap - Shepherd's Bush on the Hammersmith and City is the best one. Olympia if further away than either of the other Shepherd Bush Stations and the trains to their are infrequent as its a strange spur off the district line.

QPR getting there the definitive answer

Ok i live just down the road from it so i should know.

You could walk from the city centre (oxford street) I have, but it takes over an hour so not recommended.

Going direct from kingscross / st pancras if you come from the north, get the hammersmith and city line to Shepherds bush. (15-20min)

Coming from the centre of the city get the central line to either shepherds bush or white city (15min)

Either way a zone 1-2 travel card is best and costs about £6 for the day

If you dont want to get on a tube the 94 bus goes to shepherds bush and takes 35min from Oxford circus

before the game drink in Shepherds bush. Bear in mind a fair few pubs are home fans only and ask to see tickets. Try the walkabout or o'neills on the green or weatherspoons in the shopping centre. For nicer pubs nearby try Notting hill or kensington high street

Shepherds bush to the ground is 10min slow walk

    In fairness

Jonathon Burt did say Kensington Olympia is the nearest train station to the ground, not tube station.
He suggests the train and a walk as cutting out the lengthy tube journey.
But since coming from up here there's no easy way I can think of to get onto the correct train line for Olympia, I reckon it's a non-starter.
