We've had debates on here about this. I thought they had lots of potential after the first half dozen home games. Lately (i.e. before Saturday) I haven't been so sure. Others have rightly pointed out it took much longer than this for the Hourihane/Winnall/Scowen etc squad to show through. Thing is, we now have a guy who has coached at Inter, Real Madrid and Chelsea and another guy who played for Benfica, Juventus, Fenerbahce and Portugal both saying the squad is capable of much, much better. That's quite a thing. I hope they're right - in which case we may have to take a very positive view of those who originally recruited them.
Hardly going to say anything else really . Not gonna rock up and say they’re all ***** . I liked his presser , even with the narrative the radio journo was pursuing . Seems like he’s happy to be here and that’ll do for me . There will be changes to the playing staff in the summer of that I’ve no doubt , apart from AY and LL I wouldn’t be upset about any of the others leaving .
I think Potts and others clearly have potential but have maybe been played in the wrong position and PH never had a settled team with all of his rotations and often negative tactics. Or maybe JM is a better motivator and new tactics suit players better. I never rated Thiam but having seen his last 2 outings have changed my mind - so well done JM
If you take the loan players out of the equation, I think the back four, and their cover as some real quality about them, likewise Isgrove, I think the rest have a lot to prove. We’ve had some glimpses of quality from some of the others but nowhere near enough consistency.
