Not sure what the opinion of others are but can we stop singing about Wembley. We need to get behind the team for now and not sing about a game in March. Get behind the team now and we've got a chance of going to Wembley in May too.
Wembley game in in April. Just saying. And we don't get to Wembley that often. It should be celebrated. Any (positive) singing will lift the players
One song leads to another though, so anything that starts or helps to maintain a good atmosphere is alright isn't it. Also reminds the players if they're having a bit of dip that a Wembley place is up for grabs.
I think the whole JPT thing has been beneficial to our league form. A cup run sometimes has the opposite effect but not this time.
Did you go to Wembley in 2008, Phil? Wasn't that when you started following BFC? You going this time? Meet me and Roy in Soho if you like. We'll be wearing a dress. It's number 45, Bent Lane.
I want to sing about Wembley. I did sing about Wembley. If someone else doesn't like that, I absolutely couldn't give a ****. I'll do whatever I like.
I don't think it makes a difference to the players at all. I worried about players possibly avoiding going in for tackles but after seeing Hammill, Hourihane & White flying into challenges today that's not a concern
It wasn't Andy when I started but yes I do. Sheffield United game when Barnsley lost to a Billy Sharp goal they played it out loud. The team didn't play well in the second half. Seems some on here don't agree but I really think it can only be a distraction.
They're human beings so it will affect them. Just like it will affect them if they've had an argument with their missus before a game. **** like that. They aren't robots. But any form of supportive/happy chanting ought to help, rather than hinder. I'll msg you about Soho. Bring lube.
Bit of a stretch to assume that one note of Doris Day is going to cause the players to switch off and forget how to play football. A positive atmosphere will bring positive results. Second guessing the players instead of getting behind them and showing some excitement is more likely to have a detrimental effect. I mean if we're playing silly buggers and making things up, if I were a Barnsley player and had got the team to a Wembley final and the fans weren't singing about it I'd think they were a bunch of miserable, unappreciative sods who didn't deserve the effort put in. Alternatively, it doesn't matter either way.
31 points from a possible 42 in our last 14 games suggests otherwise HT. Sent from my I-Oven using the internets
Don't know. I get what you mean. But overall I think it would be positive. It's a reminder to the players on the pitch. It could equally lift them knowing they need to keep performing to get that wembley starting spot. But I can see (not so much in this group) how historically players may fear injury so as to miss out.
