Anyone used it recently?

Heading off to Scotland this week and considering using the A1 to Scotch Corner then the A66

Is the A1 mainly 2 or 3 lane?

Is the A66 dual carriageway now or is it still sections of DC?

    Any serious roadworks?

Mainly 2 lanes on the A1, A66 some 2 lanes, last time i used it about 3 weeks ago there were some roadworks towards the end of the 66. depends on times for traffic early morning is a nightmare.

    then M74?

    Where in Scotland you going?

Some pretty serious delays on both the M8 and M74 due to roadworks, got stuck in both today.

Isle of Lewis via Skye (Uig/Tarbert)

M74 to Glasgow, then round Loch Lomond way, A82-A87.

M74 at Junction 5(Raith Interchange) at Hamilton, there's some pretty big roadworks there at the moment, contraflow down to 40mph, loads of traffic always passing through there going to Glasgow.

The Lomond roads are normally pretty clear though.

You're welcome. Might wanna find an alternative to miss that section out, i.e. come off at Motherwell, through Bothwell, and re-join just outside Rutherglen.
