I'll let you know in a day or two when they've taken the money. But it wouldn't surprise me. I said that 99p then 39.99 offer didn't make much sense with a 34.99 standard annual subscription. After Saturday's debacle I was in two minds as to whether to cancel the flipping thing - didn't manage to even log in let alone get any commentary.
I've had this once before. Bad, I know, but only just realised that the last two payments taken were for £39.99. The next one is due in October. Not sure whether I'm renewing yet.
RE: I've had this once before. Bad, I know, but only just realised that the last two payments taken Im going to check, but after last Saturday, at least some one apologised it is for a year this 34.99 i hope, cheers
I have I signed up for the 99p trial and now 39.99 has been set as my annual amount. I want to know why? How can they warrant charging an extra fiver?
No need I know they haven't duped me out of it. But they didn't make it very clear at the sign up process. And why is it an extra fiver in the first place?
This is what he means Subscription form </p><table width="750" cellspacing="0" border="0" align="center" class="tabborder"><tbody><tr><td class="normalText">Amount:</td> <td class="infotext">£0.99</td> </tr> <tr> <td class="normalText">Subscription Package:</td> <td class="infotext">GBP 0.99 for 7 days access to Barnsley World followed by annual repeating subscription of GBP39.99</td></tr></tbody></table> </p> Advertisement</p> </p>
Mine was - but it seems they have upped it, again. Im waiting for customer services to call me back <table width="100%" cellspacing="0" border="0" class="myAccountTable"><tbody><tr class="myAccountSubHead"><td>Purchased</td> <td>Start Date</td> <td>Product</td> <td>Payment Plan</td> <td>Amount</td> <td>Expiry Date</td> <td>Status</td> </tr> <tr class="myAccountText"> <td>22 Oct 2006</td> <td>22 Oct 2006</td> <td>Barnsley World</td> <td>Annual Repeating Subscription</td> <td>£39.99</td> <td>22 Oct 2007</td> <td>Active</td> </tr> <tr class="myAccountText"> <td>15 Oct 2005</td> <td>15 Oct 2005</td> <td>Barnsley World</td> <td>Annual Repeating Subscription</td> <td>£39.99</td> <td>22 Oct 2006</td> <td>Expired</td> </tr> <tr class="myAccountText"> <td>30 Sep 2004</td> <td>08 Oct 2004</td> <td>Barnsley World</td> <td>Annual Repeating Subscription</td> <td>£34.99</td> <td>15 Oct 2005</td> <td>Expired</td></tr></tbody></table>
Do you pay by credit card? 3 years ago the price was 34.99, then 2 years ago they changed it so it was only 34.99 if you paid by direct debit but 39.99 if you paid by credit card. I remember changing my method of payment to avoid paying the extra fiver. if you signed up originally on a credit card and never changed it that would explain the rise. 15% surcharge for using a credit card seems a little excessive though. By the way I notice that the option to subscribe to a commentary service but without the video highlights for £19.99 seems to have dissapeared - which is a bit annoying now Virgin provide all the video highlights free of charge
Hi Cazi I've paid once by D.D. £34.99 in October 2006 Due for renewal next October showing as £34.99 on my account page. I can't believe the 99p offer then £5 more whoever came up with that idea must be one wave short of a shipwreck. At the moment they have the benefit of the doubt from me Saturday was the first time I have had a problem couldn't get the commentary on here in Germany at all - if it happens again prior to renewal I may consider cancelling but not at the mo.
