question for the older fans- re west stand

    on the side of the roof of the west stand which faces the ponty end there is some very faded white writing which cannot be made out anymore- its an advertising of some sort- can anyone remember what it says there- I remember old brewery stand having john smiths bitter on roof-but not what it says on there</p>

    might be a garage???</p>

    I noticed that mate. i was on the coach going to Southend so i didn't get a good look but you can definately see some white writing. I'll ask my dad..

    Thinking back to old b&w photos of the ground, I have a feeling it said....

    ....."Oakwell Ales", at either end of the stand. Could be wrong though.

    seem to remember a garage but also the ales hmmmmmmmm
