I've seen a few posts about how detailed the discussion was on the process for recruiting players, and how impressed folk were with LJ on the subject. Which I am too from what I've seen - the level of quality brought in seems very good from what I've seen so far.

I just wondered if anyone asked questions about the areas that haven't been filled? It seems there's a strong consensus among fans of the positions that need adding - CF, LB and possibly a winger. Does LJ see it the same way, and if so, what's been the problem filling these positions over the summer? Can't find the right players, or the right players found but out of reach financially?

What are the chances we're going to fill those gaps before Tuesday?

Also, did anyone question why so much dependency on loans?

    Cheers

Actually, the in depth, detailed & open answers given by the three men meant that not all questions people would like to be put forward could be asked. The meeting could've gone on for another three or four hours and we still would've wanted more. Sadly, although you've asked quite pertinent questions, through no fault of anyone they weren't asked.
Signings are hoped to be made before the deadline, but no promises were made.

I did see your hand go up near the end Kev. What were you going to ask?

Ah but did you say 'sir sir sir' while putting your hand up? Maybe you should have tried both hands too.

I was going to ask one question and make one observation, mate. Firstly, I was interested in knowing whether the club hoped to bring in any players before the deadline. Secondly (picking up what you & I had talked about earlier), I was going to point out that supporters using social media sites are a small percentage of the fan base and those who persistently criticise the club are themselves a very small fraction of said percentage.

You know, that's bizarre that no one asked probably the most pressing issue on this forum for the last few weeks. Bonkers

Obviously it wasn't a pressing issue for those attending. I attended and it certainly isn't one for me. I much prefer the club to get on with it and keep their gob firmly shut until the business is concluded.

We have to disagree then, would have been nice to know if we were actively chasing anyone before Tuesday's cut off. Not asking for details. Fans need to know and have a right to know. Seems as tho the 3 of them charmed the pants off most who attended and got away with not answering a few important questions which apparently were never asked. Is there some kind of proxy for these meetings where absentees can ask questions through others?

I'm sure you could have asked through someone. It wasn't specifically asked but Lj stated he was at Phase 1.5. He wants 2-3 more players he made that clear. But it is also clear from last night and recent press conf's that he also wants to turn some loans into perms. Not sure even if asked they would have named names or positions.

It's a question we didn't really need to ask. It's well documented that we are still actively looking for players and LJ is quoted in the Chronicle today as saying he would like to bring one or two more in before the deadline. This may or may not happen, but more importantly lets hope that if players do come in they are players who are right for the club, similar to Mawson and Roberts, and not last minute panic buys just to appease a section of the fans.

Had we asked the question they would almost definitely have said that we are working on it and hope to have a couple in. This would then have been interpreted as we are signing two new players by certain people and then there would have been complaints, come Tuesday, if two new players hadn't been paraded in front of the press. We certainly got the impression from what LJ said that we are continuously looking at potential signings and that new players will be brought in if the circumstances are right.

I think they did charm the attendees. This in my opinions was due to...
    A. People got to ask any question they wanted within the time available.
    B. They received full and I have to say very detailed answers.
    C. They showed unity and commitment to each other, the club and fans.
    D. If anyone didn't understand the plan, they certain.y got it made clearer.

I guess people would have been far from charmed if any of these didn't happen or weren't transparently discussed. I didn't see it as an audience completely of yes men and listen up/say nowt people.

Another one always asked on here and no disrespect to the questioner, but I really don't need it answering is "Why are all our transfers always undisclosed when other clubs aren't"? It got the usual response.

The question that I would have liked them to answer would have been "gentlemen, knowing your philosophy of recruiting the right personalities with the right skills at a young age, have you now exhausted your summer list of potential transfers or are there still some on the list worth considering before the transfer window closes that you are actively chasing?"
