Guess you have to question whether:
    a) Hull were telling the truth about him failing a medical.
    or
    b) Stoke's medical is not as strenuous as Hulls.

I think the medical revealed that there would be certain risks in signing him, ie long term problems which could relapse. Hull decided against taking the risk, Stoke have taken it.

    Asa Hartford

Leeds turned him down when medical revealed he had a hole in his heart, went on to have a distinguished career with West Brom

    RE: Asa Hartford

Asa Hartford moved from WBA to Man City, he failed the medical at Leeds as you say but signed for City from WBA 3 years later.

    Aye Great player Asa Hartford

    Proper cultured midfielder.

As a kid I always imagined his "hole in the heart" being made by an arrow, like I'd seen on graffitti made by bigger kids that "loved" each other.

And I thought Hartford .. hole in heart - wierd that his name was Hartford, ironic, but I didn't know the word ironic.
