    Why was Beckham on the near post?

    It's clear that most corners these days end up at the near post, so put a strong jumper/header of the ball there.

    Not rocket science.

    I'm not saying put the best there, but there's plenty to choose from... Terry, Campbell/Ferdy, Carragher, Crouch, Gerrard even.

    Watching highlights now, they scored from one and hit the bar from two others as a result of Beckham being on the near post.
