My bank is the Coop bank, and if I pay a cheque (any variety) into my account, say on a Monday, it will show as available funds on Wednesday.
My other current accounts I have at Lloyds and Halifax, would not clear until the following Monday... or possibly Saturday at the earliest.

    Why the difference, anyone know?

Cause Lloyds and Halifax are tw@ts!

Used to work for Halifax and when Lloyds took over Halifax they implemented Lloyds systems into Halifax - they were about 10 years behind! It was so frustrating working in IT and having to implement systems that had less functionality than the ones they were replacing!

I have banked with Halifax most of my working life and have to say I have never had such a problem. The norm for cheques i pay in is the standard 3 days.

I posted a cheque into my Lloyds account a few months ago and that cleared within 3 days.
