I'm away this weekend and at risk of not being able to find somewhere to watch the match I need a backup plan.

Where I'm staying has an old style sky box/dish but doesn't subscribe to sky sports.

Does my sky plus card work in a non sky plus box?

If not can I take my whole sky plus box/card and link it up to a non sky plus satellite dish. I know there's 2 wires going from sky plus box to dish so not sure it'll work on an old dish which has only 1 wire.

    take the whole box

Your card is married to the box - for premium channels you need to get it paired up at sky, but they want a good reason to do it. If you take your sky +box and plug just one wire from dish into it it should still work but you cant use the plus elements, like rewind record etc.

Should be able to use rewind/record, just that he'll only be able to use one channel at once...i.e. won't be able to watch one channel and record another, cause there'll just be one cable into the box.
