    There on about the split.

For me it would be good for ENGLAND. i think it would be good to compete against them.

If they want it for me they should have Euro and not the Brit pound.

    What do you think?

    They already have a currency.

And it wouldn't change a lot. Just a border control box.

    1. What about Wales and N.Ireland?
    2. What do you mean by "compete with them"?

Not necessarily, leaving the UK would mean them having to apply for membership of the EU...(unless Alec Salmond is genuine hard core)..that would more than likely mean imposition of the Euro.

Which is done through Bank of England. If that was cut to join eu they would have to go to Euro.

I think it would be better for Scotland as they would have free university education.

You said it would be better for England....you were forgetting about Wales and N.Ireland who would still be part of the UK.

Also, I still don't understand how it would be better to compete rather than work together. The problem is that many companies are in both countries because it's part of the UK. There is also an issue as to where we would move the navy bases to considering the cost involved in moving them.

No it isn't - it's done through the Bank of Scotland, they can still have a currency called the pound, they would not have to join the Euro unless they wanted to and also the Eurozone countries would have to vote them into the Euro and it's highly unlikely with the problems with the Euro that they would do so.

But that would have to stop becuase they lose a lot of money and once NS oil slows they'll have a larger nlack hole.

Scotland, financially, contribute more than they take out.

Ultimately self-determination is a democratic right and it is down to the Scottish people to decide their future.

I can't believe the SNP have agreed to the removal of devo-max from the ballot paper though. I thought that, and a fairer proportion of the economy, was always their actual unspoken aim.
