How on earth is Anthony taylor allowed to ref ManUre v Liverpool on Sunday. He is from wythenshaw born in manchester. He must support either City or Utd. Totally unacceptable for me.
Why unacceptable? He’s a professional referee, with professional integrity. He’ll get decisions wrong of course - but probably less than most. He’s a season ticket holder at Altrincham by the way. Has no affiliation to either United or city. There’s nothing to see here. He’s refereed both clubs - and city - on numerous occasions. Why are you so bothered anyway? You don’t appear to have a horse in this race. Do you have an undeclared other affiliation?
I thought he was horrendous last Sunday for the City v Arsenal game. Obviously determined to try to look cool and keep his cards in his pocket, he contributed to a niggly game where nothing flowed and players made daft tackle after daft tackle. "Ooh look at how hard I am, I'm not booking anyone till the 80th minute".
Yes, it did make me chuckle how many times arsenal were getting away without getting yellows and then they get 2 for time wasting antics haha
Thought I’d bump this thread for this. Anyone else think Liverpool’s penalty should be debated? Really silly lunge in from Wan Bissaka but one of those where the attacker does everything they can to make sure there’s contact and “win” the penalty.
I guess these days it is one. But the contact was certainly initiated by Elliott moving his leg towards the defender.
Hed done the hard yards by flicking it past him. All at speeds you and I could only do in a car. Pen. All day long.
Might not support any particular club. I’ve just watched the whole game and didn’t see anything to suggest bias from the officials.
