Did the board tell AR he couldnt talk to washday because they didnt want a good up and coming manager going to the opposition (good business then) or we,ll give it a couple of weeks then sack him so they,ll have a manager already and we dip out on the compo (bad business) and they would,nt sack him without a replacement lined up surely ????????

    I suspect

He was prevented from talking to wednesday because his contract with BFC prevented it.

The answer was in Patrick Cryne's interview on Radio Dee Dar.

The board were keen to renew Ritchies contract, but during these discussions AR's views on squad strengthening, i.e. that Richards and Right are good enough, became clear. That combined with the statement from Ritchie that he thought Barnsley would never get into premier league again changed PC and GS's opinion on whether AR was the right man for the job.

    Simple.

That would necessarily suggest that Wright and Richards are also screwed.

Almost agree, but would say GS's opinion counts for

    toss all.

compare richards and nads scoring records and you will see that richards is far in excesses of Nads

    very dodgy statistics though

you get a lot more chance to score when you're playing 90 minutes a game than when you're playing two.

10 of nardiello's appearences as a last minute sub for barnsley wouldnt add up to the same amount of time on the pitch as one of richards' starts.

But nardiello has hardly been prolific in the reserves. in fact I think you will find joynes and jarman have better records

    again, very dodgy

a fully fit joynes playing every week in the reserves is going to have a better record than nardiello who played for the reserves after a long term injury.

    RE: again, very dodgy

you have proved exactly my point. Too many barnsley fans have un limited faith in a player who has never proven anything. i am not saying he wont but he hasn't throughout his whole career

Do you not think there is a reason succesive managers don't play him or are they all stupid?

I thought AR said we wouldn't get into the premiership long before the Fowls showed an interest in him??

Do you mean the first time he said it or the second time?
