How did the "challenge" by their number fourteen differ from Kitson's challenge on (who was it?) on Sunday? Except, perhaps, in the following ways:

    1) The game tonight had a lot more potential to get bad tempered and required a firm hand from the referee to deter nasty, potentially damaging tackles
    2) Howard was in a good forward position with several passing options placing such a "challenge" more in the professional foul category than Kitson's
    3) Their player made no attempt to play the ball, the "challenge" was a calculated, cynical lunge as opposed to a clumsy, striker's tackle

I thought it warranted a yellow, by the way, not a red, but when the two are compared...

What about Reidy's in the first half?

If an opposition player pulled down one of our players round his neck when clean through on goal I'd be howling for him to be sent off...

You're right about that challenge BTW, but there was no way Kitson should have been sent off. Dangerous precedent Rob Styles has set there because it'll stick in the mind

"Done up like a kipper" is, I think, the term used to describe Reid in that particular instance! You're right of course, we would've been howling for a red had the boot been on the other foot - good job it wasn't a goal scoring opportunity or I think Reid might have got one!
