Quick Betting Question

Just looking at a coupon picked up from William Hill and it says:

Each Way First Goalscorer 1/2 Odds for the first 3 goals scored in the game.

Rooney is 5/2 to score first.

Can someone explain an example of a stake and potential returns for if he scores 1st or within the first 3. Does it apply the same it does to backing a horse each way.

if you had £10 ew on and he scored first your returns would be £57.50 if he scores second or third you would get £22.50 back

 

would £10 ew be a total stake of £20?

and the £22.50 would be including my stake? so a profit of 2.50?

hmm hardly seems worth doing

 

I would find a better bet to risk £20 on
