McAtee should also have scored. In some ways it was an easier finish - all he had to do is place it on target but he put too much on it.

frustrating and I’m not having a go at either of them as you can’t expect them to score every chance (Cole’s was coming at him very quickly) but it’s things like that which change the direction of the game. I think it’s unfair to blame Collins for stuff like that.

we were much the better team in the first half imho.

that said the second half was poor and Collins did little to arrest that.

You're right. Because of their previous record this season you'd expect both of them to score those chances but that's an unrealistic expectation based on the fact that these are lower league strikers not internationals.

A few months ago Cole would have buried it - this time he skied it.
You could say that because McAtee got that one the other week when the keeper was way out he should have done it again, but he didn't.

Macatee missed a easy chance v Cambridge I think it was where he hit the post when he should have buried it. Seems to score worldies and miss easier chances.
As for Cole seems low on confidence not been same since January. Like archy said yesterday early season we relied on him and Roberts both have dipped in for and so have our results.

They were both easy chances for a professional footballer in any league.

The 'header' that wasn't where he missed the ball altogether was as bad but funnier!

Cole seems to have stopped making the runs across the first (front post) defender. Was doing it all the time at the start of the season. Don’t know if that is on instruction but the way our players fail to get the ball past the first defender from wide positions, it might be worth at least one of the forwards making that run.

The Cole one the ball has to be across at that pace to make sure it gets there. Admittedly there was a defender struggling with him but it was nearly under the crossbar. In the first few months of the season, that would’ve been in.

The McAtee chance is also a great chance. Not sure I would say as easy as Cole’s but still a good chance that you’d probably expect him to score. I’ve no idea what Isted was doing for it.

Either of those 2 chances go in, or we get the other penalty shout on Cole or Jalo’s goal isn’t disallowed and it could’ve been a different story. Doesn’t cover up how bad defensively we are though.
