If my partner and I were going to transfer a large sum of money from a joint account to an external account (i.e. a solicitors account), would we both need to be present upon transfer, or would just one of us suffice for the transaction to go through?

    Cheers in advance.

depends how you set your account up in the first place.

if its a current account and you both have a card then I dont think so, as you both have ability to draw money out seperately anyway

we have joint current with natwest and I have transfered money from the account myself

but with some saving accounts, I remember in the past we had to state if we would need 1 sig or both to draw cash.

probably better off asking the bank :)
