I know this might be a stupid question but after the terrible accident in Doncaster yesterday I heard someone on the radio saying that there are 170 level crossings in the country and they are campaigning to remove them. Does that include the kind like in the town centre or just the more remote ones which aren't properly shut off when a train approaches? Anyone know? 170 seemed like a low number.

Cheers, that makes sense. I thought the number was ridiculously low.

I heard 170 on Radio De Da was too low. It was corrected later to nearly 7000.
