The Glamour Of The FA Cup Is Well And Truely Dead We would never have had to have put deals like this on in the past to make people come. Even then we will be lucky to get more than 6k today. Only the top four ever seem to win the cup and even teams like Reading are now resting players.
RE: The Glamour Of The FA Cup Is Well And Truely Dead ffs I think you might find from our point of view its more to do with 3 home matches and a local(ish) derby in the space of about a fortnight its ok for the young free and single but for the others it puts more than a bit of a crimp in the budget
Spot on mate. Had they made it a tenner then i'm sure more would be going today. They would rather have a quarter full ground than have a half / three quarter full ground for some reason. The extra people that would come would bring other monies into the club anyway, like buying a programme, paying to park their car at Oakwell for example.
RE: The Glamour Of The FA Cup Is Well And Truely Dead Sry meant 4 mmatches, did'nt include the cup tie I agree it should have been a tenner today think the club might feel a bit short when it comes to cashing up today.
RE: The Glamour Of The FA Cup Is Well And Truely Dead didnt the club say last year there was some sort of fa rule about how far you can reduce the prices from the normal?
The FA have introduced a promotion `One FA Cup` where kids can attend for a quid when accompanied by an adult paying £15. This promo was for half a dozen ties in the 3rd round, but it looks like the reds and other clubs have adopted the same pricing policy.
£15 is the minimum allowed by the FA for a 3rd round tie The club have set the price as low as they can this time so all credit to them.
