Friday 15th April 1988, Argyle vs Reds, a tedious 0-0 affair I seem to recall.
Who played at number 8 for the reds and was he any good??
I went to the game on the back of a weekend piss up in Plymouth but can't remember the virtues(if indeed he had any) of this particular player. In fact I cant remember him full stop.

According To Our Official History Book 1887-1998 A Blair played number 8 in that game and the crowd was 8059.
cheat I was looking for some background, some memories of supporters, to see if anyone actually remebered him without resorting to the official history. Ah well.
Recall he was a fair haired skilful midfield player who we signed on loan from Aston Villa who did quite well for us but a permanant deal never happened.
A. Blair. I remember him now. Anthony. Big wide grin. Showed some promise in the early days but woefully failed to deliver. Stayed on long beyond his welcome before an eventual swap deal for a similarly pisspoor Scotsman called G. Brown.
Indeed ANDY BLAIR Born: Kirkcaldy d.o.b: 18 December 1959 Position: Midfield Teams Seasons Apps. Gls. Source : Apprentice Coventry City 78-81 93 6 Aston Villa 81-84 33 0 Wolverhampton Wds. My recollection of him was that he was toss. He didn't seem to want to be here and I was more than happy when he no longer was.
Recall he did enough in his first month to get it extended , could not be called a non trying loanee in the mould of Deon Burton or John Oster.
Plymouth away?............ Just out of interest, were there many Barnsley supporters in evidence for this game? If memory serves me right we were already settling for a mid-table position? Talking of Plymouth, did anyone go down there in the late 70's, early 80's? The 3-1 was very memorable indeed, although the 6-hour+ journey home on the special train was a nightmare - no drinks or food to be purchased. We were stranded on the outskirts of Birmingham for what seemed an eternity. It was great travelling away on the specials back in those days
"Give us a clue..." There were two tell tale signs that he was going to struggle 1 He was an Ex Wednesdayite 2 Christened Lionel by one of our group in the Brewery before he'd kicked a ball. It was all downhill from there I'm afraid
Another one 27th August 1988, Oldham vs Reds Name the Keeper (easy) and the youngster, number 4 for Oldham, who went on to play fr the reds?
RE: Another one Keeper would have to be Clive Baker methinks? Was the number four Neil Redfern? I think we drew the game 1-1 (?)
Aye...article in programme abart him... Who was his (at the time?) girlfriend related to in the Reds starting line up?
RE: Aye...article in programme abart him... Easy that.... it was Aggie's sister, Linda. Her mate was Andrea Rohdes (i don't know if she was Andy's sister but it does seem coincidental) and she went out with Dave Wilkes.
