"Why do you think we would need 6000 allocation ? Less than 4000 at Wigan, 2500 at Everton. Do you think all the glory hunters might want a day out?" http://forums.cfcnet.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=33110&st=100
i noticed that the other day before we announced the ticket allocations, which kinda backs up the idea of just giving them half of the west stand but it seems that the police werent happy with segregation if that were to happen,so they gave them the usual away end which will be easier to police, totally understandable really
Segregation I can only imagine that it would be a very difficult job to segregate the concourse under the North Stand thus plod weren't happy with that.
We do seem to do our best for visiting fans - wish other clubs did the same.
After the match at Anfield Liverpool and Barnsley fans had to walk past each other, merseyside plod didn't seem too bothered, our lot seem very nervous though.

I think thats a key point Dirk.. Segregating the North Stand wouldn't have been feasible.
I think it can be halfed to 3k but not to 4k ish due to segregating the concourse. Toilets etc have to accessible for both sets of supporters.
I'm still unsure why we couldn't have given them half of the west stand but if Chelsea reckon they can sell the full 6k then BFC will be in a position where they can't win. The police will want Chelsea in the north stand and thats that.
We do bend over backwards generally to help away fans but thats the fallout from having such a poor home support in relation to how many seasts we have. We always have seats available and club are happy to fill it as much as possible with away fans which they again have no choice to do.
If for instance we started to increase our crowds again then I think it would be easier for the club to plan for future big games as segregation of the North stand would happen week in week out.
