"We want to go as far as possible in the Carling Cup. It is a great chance to get to the Millennium Stadium again and we have to go out to do as well as we can" I think this great start of ours is going to our heads a bit.
Ritchie does not want an under strength team, and one that has not played together before, any excuses for losing. If he does not say this sort of thing, he might as well say that he does not mind if his reserves lose heavily.
He says he wants to go as far as he can. But he is playing the reserves so where is the logic ? Plus say the reserves do well and get through a couple of rounds. Well i think we all know they will be dropped like a bad habit if we drew Chelsea or someone and that is wrong.
Disagree.. gives the reserves a chance to stake a claim for a first team place if any first choice gets injured or stops performing and also gives AR the chance to see them in action at a better level. Might be good for Tommy Wright to get a start and hopefully score. Certainly makes sense to avoid injuries as well
