    Williams is now set on taking control in Gillingham's team and said he has the attributes required to improve the defence.

    "I'm primarily a left back," he said, "but am also confident at left midfield. I love getting forward and love getting crosses into the box. People struggle to get past me so I hope that'll be a bonus for the defence."
