    A great player gone before his time.

    I don't know what killed him but I remember he was a heavy smoker even when he was playing in the World Cup but that wasn't unusual in those Days.

    I was 8yo on the day the 82 World Cup Final was played. If the Brazil team had known how and when to stop attacking they'd have walked that tournament. The 3-2 loss to Italy was an epic match.

    RIP Socrates, captain of a team that live fondly in the memories to this day.
