Found out that Peter died abroad at the weekend. He was a great supporter of Barnsley and hardly missed a match home and away despite spending most of his time living in Spain. He was one of the instigators behind the Supporters trust and did alot of good work during our administration days. I sincerely hope his death does not go unrecognised by the club or trust... A good bloke who loved the club, condolences to Janine and his family.

Sad to hear of the passing of a Barnsley supporter.

Very sad news ideed - my thoughts are with his family. As has already been mentioned Peter was a great supporter of Barnsley FC and did a lot of good work for the club and our fans. One of the founder members of the Supporters Trust he was treasurer until a few weeks ago when he decided it was time to take things a little easier.

I only really knew him for the last year or so but found him to be a decent bloke.

I think i remember him talking at the Supporters meetings at Ardsley House

Was there a plan to get so many fans to put in £1000 each and try to buy the club?

    Yes.

The plan was to get 6000 fans to put in a grand each, if my memory serves me correctly.
