Went to Greenhead Park this afternoon in Huddersfield to watch the 2,500 ladies take part. About 90 minutes later the last person galantly crossed the line with an oxygen mask on to a standing ovation. Pulse radio station were there and tomorrow with 5,000 taking part it promises to be a bigger day. Shame though the event seems sexist with only women allowed to enter. I mean cancer affects both sexes and they should have something similar for males to compete in with it being for a great cause.
they do have something simllar for males in fact it's the same 5k runs organised in partnership between the Bobby Moore Foundation and Cancer Research UK, I think there are currently 2 this year, in London and Manchester, I don't know any more than that but I suggest a spot of googling.
It is an event specifically related to cancers that affect women.
It's been going for several years now. Members of my family take part every year.

I think the big appeal is that it is ladies only Jayne normally takes part but her Ladies circle group helped with the event this year and they did the moon walk, another ladies cancer charity thing, had a great time walking round Kendal in the middle of the night and raised a load of money, has Ali done her race for life yet?
