Racism was alive and well in the Barnsley end today................

.....sat there 'enjoying' the day with my 10 year old....and all you hear was black this, black that, black the other.

the young un sez to me.....'what difference does it make what colour they are dad?'

what I wanted to reply was....'take no notice son, they are all just fekking morons' but you just can't can ya?

my actual reply was...'it doesn't matter what colour they are, some people just are not educated very well'. Clearly this was as polite as I could manage.

There is a large 'minority' that follow bfc and are a shameful disgrace......Kids these days should not be exposed to this but apart from a large 'cull' on the numpties mentioned, what can you do?

 

Unfortunately there are some Scum dragging the club into the gutter at the moment.

Its about time they are weeded out and banned from attending but its easier said than done.

All you can do is bring your lad up properly Bob, some of our moronic element are beyond help. You responded in the right way too as challenging these idiots would have undoubtedly led to confrontation - just to show how hard they are.

 

Many, many years ago I can remember standing in the away end at The Baseball Ground, surrounded by idiots chanting "Barnsley are white! Barnsley are white!" as Derby had a few black players. Disgusting and saddening to hear that this kind of racism still exists among some of our fans.

 

I've not seen / heard as much racism in the last few years but I remember Moore, Odejayi & Campbell-Ryce getting plenty of it off of our own fans a few years back.

Sad that there's still some at it in 2015

 

We see police with modern cameras filming fans, everyone has technology in their phone that can record stuff, police talk of infiltrating away and home fans to build intelligence, for years the same people travel and do this, people post on social media about their wonderful exploits. How the hell is it that we can't identify and ban these people. Unfortunately our club is now well and truly tarnished and as Whitey says it will cost us not only in fines and revenues but in attracting fans home and away and even players and sponsors.we need to sort this out once and for all, these aren't Just daft kids but also fully grown immature and adults

 

Didnt hear it yesterday but no doubt this happend. Discusting though not only we have black players but we have and I saw quite a few black and mixed race barnsley supporters yesterday.

 

At away games I do feel like the opposition look at us and think we are still in the 1980's. People need to grow up because at the end of the day they're not just making themselves look idiots but also giving our club a bad name.

 

I've been saying for years that Barnsley as a town in general seems to be stuck in the 80s.

Admittedly at matches it is only a minority, sadly it's often the minority who make the most noise.

I know this is tough for us fans to have to experience this, but I must admit, I feel slightly sorry for the club and Manford who's got the job on having to fork out the bill for the police and also try and rectify the problem.

The sooner these people are no longer capable of getting tickets to the away games, the better it is for all the proper fans and the clubs reputation.
