I said that to my dad and my brother when they questioned Davey's role - he picked the starting XI that most of us would have picked, and the players had a shocker. It happens sometimes.
bugger, just about to post the same thing. whether people will admit it but prior to the game that was the team that 90% of supporters would have picked. with the exception of the JCR at right back scenario i don't think davey's tactics were to blame. i think the players have to take the blame for yesterday. still not sure whether fozzie is the right man for captain, best defender in squad by far, but maybe too quiet. but who else could do it??
Everton fans can accept the odd bad performance because their manager has worked wonders and they respect him for it. As for Davey....it's the total opposite.
RE: I'm amazed that not a single soul is blaming... funny you should say this. pillock sat behind me was blaming the stadium!!!!!!!! saying because we didn't redevelop the west stand was the reason our attendances were poor and that this was the reason our performance yesterday was crap!!!! couldn't stop laughing!!
Only my opinion on the matter, but Everton's performance could well be classed as a one off (heaviest home defeat since the 1950's), whereas Barnsley's wasn't. Perhaps that may be a reason for the difference in attitude between the fans.
