Radical thoughts on the game

Have you ever thought about blaming the players for not performing on the day.

 

I said that to my dad and my brother when they questioned Davey's role - he picked the starting XI that most of us would have picked, and the players had a shocker. It happens sometimes.

 

Everton fans weren't blaming Moyes yesturday they were blaming the players for non performing.

 

David Moyes and Simon Davey are worlds apart when it comes to managerial talent and experience.

 

bugger, just about to post the same thing.

whether people will admit it but prior to the game that was the team that 90% of supporters would have picked.

with the exception of the JCR at right back scenario i don't think davey's tactics were to blame.

i think the players have to take the blame for yesterday.

still not sure whether fozzie is the right man for captain, best defender in squad by far, but maybe too quiet. but who else could do it??

 

he wasn't comparing managers.

he was comparing scenario's.

 

Everton fans can accept the odd bad performance because their manager has worked wonders and they respect him for it.

As for Davey....it's the total opposite.

 

I'm amazed that not a single soul is blaming...

the pitch. It's too damn, you know... grassy.

Only my opinion on the matter, but

Everton's performance could well be classed as a one off (heaviest home defeat since the 1950's), whereas Barnsley's wasn't. Perhaps that may be a reason for the difference in attitude between the fans.
