I know journalistic standards have fallen over the years but Jesus this is painful listening. Referred to west brom having 3 players sent off. Erm no, sheff united did. And the interviewer constantly talking about "Sheffield brought on a sub" "the Sheffield manager Neil Warnock", "Sheffield conceded a goal". It's Sheffield United you clown.
Tbf it's easier in an interview to shorten a club name once you've established which teams you're referring to . So I ask someone who they support saying United doesn't help. However, if they say Colchester but then go on to use United for the rest of the conversation I know who they're on about.
Yeah I get that but Sheffield just sounds completely wrong and I'd have thought anyone doing an interview about football would know that. Had she referred to them as United I don't think it would have sounded weird at all but Sheffield did.
