    Really hope not.
Think we need someone from outside the club totally.

Really hope not!!! We will be in the same situation in 12 months time but in league 1!! Need a proper manager who knows what he is doing not someone's second hand man!!

I think with mansford and watkins with the talk they talked start of the season I think they have great vision and contacts to bring in someone decent or that can do a good job!!

To be honest when he arrived I was very impressed very vocal and looked hungry for success so not all bad in my opinion.

TBH How do you know really? He's very well regarded apparently and just after he was part of the upturn in fortunes last year, who is to say he wasn't the architect of that and was overruled this year by Flicker who reverted to type, with stupid defensive formations and over cautious tactics

Said it on Look North dinner time bulletin. I wonder if Hecky remains his assistant he could be the future manager. Rowing said he thought that experience at Academy level was a better grounding for managers at our level given the budgets they have to stick to.

Although not the most exciting, Mellon would be a good appointment in my opinion if it were to happen.

Be interesting to see what team he picks on Tuesday. If it's radically different to what Flicker has gone with, and we win the game, I can imagine a lot of people will change their mind.

I've found it interesting that only Mellon has been retained out of the setup...

To be honest, of the realistic candidates Mellon would be my second choice after Wilson. His win ratio is definitely nothing to be sniffed at, whatever league it was achieved in.

Why are people so shocked? Isn't that what we did with Flicker? and Simon Davey? and Andy Ritchie? And Glynn Hodges? In the case of Hodges he lost the job. If we lose tomorrow i'm almost certain the club will be looking for an adequate replacement. If we win, great, why shouldn't Mellon get a chance.

Afterall, his managerial record is pretty good, albeit at a lower level.

Difficult one to judge. Could be 'cos the board are thinking of giving him the job, could be 'cos we need somebody to be in charge on Tuesday night, so we had to keep one of 'em.
