As i watched it in action yesterday i couldn't get it out of my mind that I'd seen that leg somewhere before. It wasn't until i got home last night and went to watch the new film '1917' that it dawned on me where I had seen. 'Reach for the Sky' and Kenneth Moor's excellent portrayal of the WW2 Flying ace Douglas Bader. Might i suggest to our defenders that they desist from giving him kicking practice for that leg whilst a game is taking place? It really is something they should only be doing on the training ground.
His left leg is a lovely leg for the role. I've got nothing against his left leg. Unfortunately neither has he (Pete & Dud, circa 1966,Google it)
What did you make of the film? It started off quite interesting , but the ending seemed a bit sudden. I believe it was a true story , but could have been delivered a bit differently.
I enjoyed the film. A gruesome representation of what went on in the trenches but I suspect the reality was far worse.
Decent but didn't quite live up to the hype for me. Ironically I was (reluctantly) dragged along to see a film a few days earlier - The Gentlemen. Excellent - with some brilliant writing and performances. Yours B Norman..
It is dedicated to his grandfather who fought in WW1. I dont think it is based on a single true life event but I imagine there are bits of real life from that time that have been jigsawed together to give us the final outcome. I watched it on Saturday. Superb film and amazing single shot screen usage.
Indeed. Mr.Spigott,a unidexter, was auditioning for the part of Tarzan,a role 'normally associated with a 2-legged artiste'. They don't write them like that any more
