I think the superb work rate of these two - putting defences under a lot of pressure - could well eventually contribute to conceding less goals than we have been doing. Not just a reaction to last night, though that demonstrated what I mean. They do say defend from the front, and these two certainly do.
spot on pal, although we still insist on notleaving anyone up front when defending a corner, which annoys the fook outta me.
Agreed. If we leave 1 up they leave 2 back so why not leave 3 up so they leave 4 back meaning less of their players in the box to score!
Yep, must admit I disagree with that - more bodies back does not necessarily mean more chance of stopping a goal.
Annoys me that we pull everyone back for a set piece..... I feel that our defending is vunerable in a crowded area.
Lets leave Pete up there on the halfway line.

One or Two left up - thats what most teams do As well as pulling defenders back we have a chnace of clearing and holding it up too. We always look w=edgy at corners with so many in the area
Very much so There were many parallels with the way Colchester played against US in the previous home match. They made it very difficult for us the clear our lines properly. They key was getting a goal into the lead and then working very hard to prevent the opposition from getting any time on the ball.
