Is this the latest mantra from Dominic Cummings. Every time you hear Bojo or any Minister speak they say we're ramping up testing, supply of ventilators and PPE. It's not strictly true. I know this is anecdotal but I believe it is quite common place. My cousin is a retired consultant in London volunteering to go back, four weeks ago she bought herself some FFP3 masks. Her younger sister works in a Derby hospital, a sister in ITC. Neither have been tested and yesterday the younger cousin, who has not been supplied with the appropriate mask, drove down to London from Derby to collect a couple of masks. Non frontline personnel have PPE and some Bojo, Hancock, Prince Charles and the like are tested. The NHS staff need more than applause which is no more than a pep talk, they need testing, PPE and more than a promise of 'ramping up'.
My niece is a senior nurse in Liverpool and was told that she isn’t a priority for an effective face mask. She’s been told to take one on the ineffective ones and tape round the edges.
we used to ramp up back in the day, I went for 3 bricks high one day on my tomahawk, sadly the Formica chipboard combo snapped and I ended up with council chippings in my knee, if only I had stuck to 2 bricks or chosen a stronger wood option, but 3 bricks was a street record ,if I had made it
You'd think the extra £350million a week for the NHS as promised by our elected Tory government would cover a few face masks wouldn't you...
They are 'ramping up' but the trouble is they are starting from too far down the ramp at this stage and they don't have the wherewithal to get up the gradient of the slope from hereon in. The volumes of the right PPE are just not getting through and the ventilators are non-existent. We need 35-40k new ventilators. We've been told that there are £7k to be distributed but nobody has had sight nor sound of them.
Ramping up is just another throw away line just like Northern Powerhouse, levelling up, get brexit done, 40 new hospitals, 20,000 new police - all done to get it stuck in your mind - come on people resist the stuff that the tories are constantly drip feeding us
