Dwain Chambers just got gold in the European Indoor championship

I would have preferred the Italian in second place to have won

    Disagree very strongly

    He is a drugs cheat
He cost his team mates olympic medals
He shouldnt be running for the British team

How do you know he hasnt been cheating again just got better at it - after all what has he to lose for trying it now

    Are you one of those...

Who believes that some criminals should not be let out after serving their time?

    Poor analogy

Cheats don't always get caught first time - they may have been cheating for years which brings past results into doubt

    Yes but...

To say that they'll do the same again is harsh. Not every offender re-offends...

I wish it had been but

the regulations say he can run for his country after his ban. Therefore it's OK! One good thing is that he can't represent GB in the Olympics :)

Look at Ben Johnson though - caught twice

Or Flo Jo - it killed her. You have to wonder how regular her drug use was to contribute to her death.

Marion Jones - an habitual drugs cheat. I bet it's very difficult for them to break the cycle. If they set out with the intention of being clean, once they can't get the results they will be tempted back.

    No

I didnt say he shouldnt run I just said I get no pleasure from him winning

Though the way he has conducted himself since coming back has hardly been calculated to get him rehabilitated.
And I have some suspicion as to how clean he is now

    To be honest...

I haven't been following the subject so I've no idea what he's like right now. And I don't know the guy so I wouldn't be able to say whether he looked clean or not. I've obviously just misunderstood your original post. It just seemed you were saying once a cheat always a cheat...

Let him run I say. He has served his time and fair play to the man for still running despite what he has thrown at him. I totally understand what people are saying but I honestly think he is clean and trying his hardest to prove all of the doubters wrong.

    RE: Yes but...

Flo Jo never tested positive in any drugs test.

So that is an unfounded accusation.

Not that I believe for one single minute she was clean. (chinny)

    Fairplay,I don't think so!!

The guy's a cheat pure and simple, that fact that some of the others might be cheating,is no excuse,
on that reasoning fairplay to Chris Morgan.
