Just a thought , sorry if its already been posted.It says in the Yorkshire Post Gordon Shepherd is going to show his backing to Andy Ritchie by signing a ex-England international from a premiership club. Could he attract Ray Parlour to Barnsley ( which must be difficult to sell over at the moment ) with a player managers role either now or perhaps in a months time. Gordon Shepherd probably realises its hard to attract the players to a club with such a low wage structure , could the managers job be the carrot. Also like Risdale as done at Cardiff with his contacts he has attracted players there who would probably not gone , hence Chopra , Mcphail etc.Perhaps with Parlours experience he could attract players to Barnsley who wouldnt normally come , and put a few more bums on seats .Just a thought, or maybe hes just coming as a player on loan.
I see Parlour as a winger. We really need a defender more. But we need a defensive coach most of all.
