just like the re development of the youth academy, complete waste, not needed at the moment. We might as well invest in the team and get us promoted!!! :)

Just like the £74m Chelsea invested in the team that played us?

Money does not guarantee success but a big wage bill might induce failure.

    Wrong

were wasting money each season working on it to get a safety certificate, it needs a complete new roof because its falling to bits. We have no choice but to build a new stand as soon as possible or run the risk of it getting shut down and playing with three sides.

    RE: Wrong

then spend a little more money repairing it!!! no need for a new 1!! That is what would have been done had we not had the cup run would it not?

what rather than build a new stand whilst we have the money and generate more income through hospitality? dont you think that once its built more people will get a season ticket in there? were wasting money on the old stand, get a new one built. We have assembled a squad through spending not that much money and they are good enough to finish in the top half of this table especially when the injured players are back. When we did have money we spent a million of it on Sheron, enough said. No doubt davey will uncover a few more bargain buys that will turn out highly rated. How much was Muller again?

thats very hopeful of you!!! In a few seasons we could find ourselves in League 2. What good is the stand then!! Very little pretty sure the money might be useful though!

No it would have been closed theres only so much you can do

to an old stand repair wise, its "refurbished" up to the max. The next step would have been a complete new roof and upper tier (half the stand) so for the cost of all this you may as well build a new one.

Why would we be in league two?

had our squad been fully fit e.g De Silva and Muller in and Macken, De Silva and Nyatanga here all season we would have finished fairly comfortably in this division.

that is what football is like...teams have ups and downs..these days if they get on a downer can hurt massively in a financial sense! Far harder to get back on an up than in the past!!! Hope the stand is really neccessary Don!

They've had them in a few times and the stands been deemed unsafe. They would need a complete new roof in the near future and it struggles to get a fire certificate these days with the old wooden floor. For all the money spent to refurbish it a new stand is the best option. Plans for this stand were originally drawn up when Dennis was here.
