In this post match interview, LJ has said and not for the first time that we need to get a few older heads in who have experience. I get the feeling the board aren't allowing him to do that and he is trying to drum it into them. Admittedly it's been nowhere near good enough recently but I'm of the belief that a few older heads (if chosen wisely) could turn this club around. Shame we released Liam Lawrence..

I don't disagree but he surely knew the policy when he signed up...

He probably thought there would be some leeway, probably thought the board couldn't be that stupid to block him from signing ANY experienced players. I agree the policy we're using is right, I believe (probably controversially) that the manager/head coach is right but if you don't blend youth with a bit of experience then once you get on a downwards spiral there's no one to pull you out of it.

Mark Cooper managed it with an even younger team last year at Swindon so it's not impossible.

We all said this. I lost count of the times I said under Danny that Bobby should have been playing, last season in midfield we were crying out for experience. That midfield has only got younger, some aren't our players, and good laikers like Winnall are being made to play anywhere but where they're comfortable.

Worry for Johnson is, I remember Keith and Flicker getting the green light to bring experienced loanees in. Greening, Tudgay, Fox etc. They were sacked soon after.

I, and lots of you on here, pointed out this summer that the recruitment was wrong, that we loaned too many, we didn't add in key areas, didn't sign experience etc. And we're being proven right, sadly. And now, the manager is changing system willy nilly, player roles willy nilly, admitting he hasn't a clue basically.

And any other manager under this regime would be sacked, but this is the chap they made a big deal out of giving a three year deal, the last manager Mr Cryne will appoint (he said).

So **** only knows what next.

But Saturday, I'll be spending the day with the missus. I've paid for a ticket, I've done my bit, but I want to enjoy my weekend off work and feel like I've done something worthwhile.

    Not a proper supporter.

That performance is really hard to defend.

Remember what happened last time we lost at home to Fleetwood? I dear it might happen again, as much as I disagree with it.

Nobody could blame you Andy. I'm seriously thinking about staying at home to watch the Rugby.

And in other news, Oldham finally won a game tonight Lee :) Just in time for our local derby away at Rochdale on Saturday. If you want apathy, talk to me when you're in the office next - me and my mates, all long-standing Oldham Season ticket Holders don't bother much at the moment. Your message board reads like me and my mates under LJ and our club's management 18 months ago.

I seriously hope Dunny does the job for us (in that we avoid relegation, entertain, best we can hope for in our 475th year in this division), but we f**ked up with the appointment of the inexperienced (cheap option #1 Darren Kelly), only to replace him with less cheaper option #2 DD.

I always loved my club, knew exactly what was going on - this season I have to check the fixture list. Never thought I'd lose my passion, but I don't care too much about football in general anymore.

We're crying out for how Bobby Hassell was 5 years ago. But, as much as I like the guy, we're not crying out for a guy who has to spend 90% of his time sat in the stands, injured. I'm sure a fit Bobby Hassell could still do a job, I just don't think we'd get one.

At least you know how we feel John. I gave up with football in general a while ago, it's nothing more than a passing interest now but the same thing is starting to happen with Barnsley and it isn't a nice feeling. I'll be in the office next week, we could be in the bottom four by then.

The flurry of those loan signings was the clubs means to an ends... by that, the means to sack Keith Hill. A very expensive and petty way to go about getting rid of a manager you don't want in my view. "Giving him the rope to hang himself" i think were the exact words used to me.
