    The last bit of the announcement I think is the most illuminating - Spurs don't want a delay to the 3rd round fixture so everything else has to be moved round

    Nowhere in there does it say that Spurs don't want a delay. That is supposition on your part surely.

    Due to spurs champions league commitments the earliest the game could be played would have been the end of October.
    Where as us and Derby will presumably be able to fit our respective league games in a bit easier.
