Apparently getting sold to Wycombe for reportedly about £3-4m for a £50m facility.

    Wow!

Well reported it cost them £50m to build about 5 years ago, so realistically probably worth more than that now.

Looks like the £3-4m figure is ******** though and it’s costing Wycombe closer to £20m

See a lot of Reading fans are abusing the Wycombe owner over it.

Seen some reading fans genuinely comparing it to Wimbledon/MK which is just insanity

It is but asset stripping another football club isn't a good look.

True but sometimes what comes around goes around. Wigan bought Bolton’s training ground in Chorley seven or eight years ago when Bolton were in a mess - cut price.

Fast forward to three or four years ago, Wigan were then struggling, and sold it on - cut price - to Preston!

Yes but Wycombe aren't forcing them to sell it. Presumably as a result of the actions of their owner, Reading have put it up for sale as they need the cash. The outcome could be even worse for Reading were Wycombe not to buy it. Reading fans are pointing the finger in the wrong direction imo.....

The sale of the club has been made harder apparently by the fact that the club no longer comes with a training ground as the owner is refusing to sell it all as one. If Wycombe didn't buy it his hand would be forced a little into putting the two together for the sale of the club.

It's not just Reading fans unhappy about it, lots of Wycombe fans are too.

And that's before anyone even considers that it's nowhere near Wycombe's stadium. It's like us deciding to train at bramall lane

Roughly 20 miles difference hardly other side of the country.
Almost identical distance from Chelsea to Cobham and works for them.
Not sure why it matters for the training ground being on top of the stadium either, doubt very much players are living in Wycombe.
Wycombe have also been looking for a number of years for somewhere for these facilities in an area that is very limited.

It's quite common for a clubs training facilities to be nowhere near their ground. Don't Leeds train somewhere out near Wetherby?

Yeah, most central London clubs train nowhere near the ground. Far easier for access etc.

Leeds the same too like you say.

End of the day, if you can buy a cut-price ready built training facility, near enough, then it’s a no-brainer.

Get the land, planning and infrastructure in place takes years and millions.

    Thorp Arch. No E.

I was born a stones throw from where their training ground is. Lived there until I was nearly 7. My Dad whipped me and r kid to oakwell before we had chance to be tainted!!
