Now deducted the 6 points that was suspended last season, for continued failure to meet FFP, and the fact that they didn't do stuff they agreed to do when last season's punishment was agreed. This is very annoying, because it feels like they have basically played the system to have the punishment spread over 2 years, meaning they avoided relegation last season, and still have a chance to avoid it this year. They finished 4 points ahead of Peterborough last year. But also, while we threw the towel at the end of the season, how different might things have been had they either been deducted the full 12 points last season, meaning at one stage we'd have been out of the bottom 3, of if they'd sold some of their saleable players (Joao, Swift) last January?
Still in their own hands especially as they have Wigan and Huddersfield as their last 2 games of the season, they'll survive.
Makes you sick doesn't it, as this piddly little -6 point punishment now is way too lenient. I think back to the 1-1 at home to them last season, they should have had the -6 point deduction then, and it really might have been a different outcome!.
Give em 6 for this season then 6 next season to take wind out of their sails if the think they’ll come back up ( I know they are outside bottom 3).
Looking at their last 6 games there’s a good chance that 6 point deduction might just relegate them…..with a bit of luck.
Given the last 6 games form table I wouldn't put money on it. 14th Huddersfield 8 points 18th Wigan 6 points 24th Reading 2 points Still to play Burnley. Luton, Preston, Brum. Coventry as well. Only brum nowt to play for, bar pride. Can't see em getting more than 5 points from the last 7. I think I'm being generous at that. Cardiff and/or Huddersfield will overtake em I reckon. Although difficult run ins themselves. Cardiff v Huddersfield next to last match n'all. That'll be a big game.
Aye, hadn't looked into that detail, you're right that's tough, what a shame, be nice if they could join Wigan and Cardiff tho.
Hope so. I'd love it if Wigan, Reading & Brum were relegated, although I think Blackpool have a lot to do to stay up, even with Big Mick at the helm.
I think the lashers are going down because of Mick, as well as despite him lol. Although in fairness its also because they're just not good enough. I did want to see Wigan and Huddersfield and Cardiff drop, but I hope Reading replace one of those now.
