Is credited as an own goal by Eustace

Can he refer that to the dubious goals comittee and get his name taken off that. I think I would be pretty miffed to have an own goal against me in those circumstances.

If I was a Watford fan I would be feeling a little unhappy with the officials to say the least - I didnt think Reading should have had a penalty either

Everyone is having a go at the young ref and blaming him

The linesman gave it and surely refs have to rely on linesmen in certain situations to make the right decisions

The referee had a clear view from his position on the pitch

He had a better view than the linesman and he should have overruled the decision in light of the fact that he never saw the ball go in the net and that the reading players made not one appeal for a goal and all 22 men on the pitch reacted as though the ball had gone out for a corner.

It was ultimately the ref's fault though

The linesman saw the ball crossed the line -but from his angle its difficult to tell if it is between the posts or not. The ref should have checked where the goal was supposed to have been giving - it would then have been clear to him what had happened. It was obvious to anyone not looking along the goal line the ball never went between the posts. The ref and linesman work as a team but the ultimate responsibility is with the ref

thing that gets me is the guy making the goal line 'clearance' is actually a attacker

I remember when we had Attwell at Oakwell thinking he was completely out of his depth. Been promoted too far, too fast.</p>

They've put him on the Prem list this season FFS!
