So many names are being bandied around but in reality I'd be surprised if more than half a dozen of them are being seriously considered. The people suggesting Billy Davies or Owen Coyle are simply deluded...for obvious reasons.

I reckon the following may be in the running:-

Sean O'Driscoll - Has Keef's possession football philosophy, which is the worry for me. All the possession in the world means nothing if you cannot put the ball in the net. I honestly don't think we'd be right for each other at present. Reckon he has one eye on the Wolves job anyhow.
Terry Butcher - Gaining a formidable reputation north of the border but I doubt he'd fancy taking us on to be honest. His lengthy detachment from the English leagues would be a worry for me.
Neil Redfearn - Only being thought of because of his legendary playing status which should not come into it at all. The heart says yes but the head definitely says no.
Paul Ince - He has a mixed managerial CV but would definitely have the passion for a relegation fight. May also have the contacts within the game to secure decent loans. Jury out though for me.
Uwe Rosler - Had a terrific managerial record in Norway and has continued it at Brentford on a tight budget. A bonus is that he has experience at League 1 level should we be relegated. Whether he fancies swapping a League 1 promotion battle at this time for a championship relegation struggle is debatable. Also there would be a compensation package to negotiate.
Gary Megson - Would not be very popular because of his Weds connections. However that should not detract from the fact that his teams are always hard to beat and he would certainly sort out that piss weak back four. He would probably be the best bet to keep us up but it may not be pretty. Another who know league 1 assuming the inevitable happens.

In a nutshell, my first pick would be Uwe Rosler with......(I'll get my tin hat) Gary Megson as second choice.

Agreed. Megson is the best man for the job. I don't like him personally but I think you've got it spot on saying he would be the best bet to keep us up.

Megson and Moore could be OK.

Yep sadly I agree with you re: Megson being the best man to keep us up. Thank you very much for reducing us to this Keith you b'stard.

I also agree despite disliking the ginger, who would need a dog bowl by the dugout to dribble into for Massive Weds away ( best fans in the world)

Really tho, look at the managers we were after last time- Hill at Rochdale, Slade at Orient. And that was in a preseason, not January, bottom of the league and in limbo financially/ takeover wise. Why do people always get drawn into suggesting big established names? There's no chance

Where does the Megson/Moore combo talk originate from???
I can't think of any links together that they have had, either playing or coaching. Moore's presence would probably make it more appealing to Reds fans but I'm just curious as to how the two have been put together as a possible option?
