Dunno about by far Second period of extra time they were all over us, but we were effectively down to ten men. Hassell was crocked and just stood in the middle. And we were playing with Tommy Wright. Rest of the game was pretty even I thought.
RE: Dunno about by far First half, they were dominant. Second half, with the exception of about the last 20 minutes, we could, and should, have been buried. First period of extra time, we just about edged. Second period of extra time, defence kept us in it. Penalties, thank f**k for ex-Donny players.
I thought we were superb in the first half of extra time but it was completely different side in the second half - we were knackered and it showed.
RE: Dunno about by far first period of extra time we were all over them, second period visa versa !!!
Thought they were very physical, not dirty though, and they'd done their homework on us, not allowing the wide players space and hitting the spaces between the wide players and full backs. Also midfield was not solid enough until tonge came on .
Bro in law Palarse fan thought they had more possesion but didn't create any more clear cut chances than us. Also we tried to play football they had one tactic particularly when Fallon was on.

Hmmmm I think Swansea were the better side, just. Agreed the last 15 mins of extra time was painful as Trundle singlehandedly took us apart, but first 20 minutes of game we seemed in control. Also Fallon's goal was unstoppable and second goal was a huge mistake by Colgan. Dare I say their finishing was just as poor as ours? Also our team spirit was fantastic, something that has been lacking over recent years and I honestly believe that team spirit carried us through the penalties. Cut them a bit of slack Gaz. We won without cheating.
Played off the park, Andy. When you get chance, watch the game on TV. You'll cringe. We barely strung three passes together and gave them room to dominate the game. Our last ditch defence was superb, but our standard of football sucked. Robinson took us apart, Fallon was unstoppable, O'Leary nullified McPhail, and their defence had a birthday for most of the game. We did one thing really, really well - penalties.
RE: Played off the park, Andy. OK I'll hold judgement until I see it on TV, perhaps you are right. I still maintain our defence is better than its been in a long time and there's a great team spirit and I love that. I don't pretend for one moment we have a great footballing team who can dominate the Championship, but they worked their balls off today and it was a lovely day for the town. A lovely f'kin day. Let's enjoy it, they're few and far between.
Garbage I would say it was largely even until ET when we were looking very tired, particularly last 15 when we elected to play deep.
Think at ET HT we knew we could not put much more effort in and deliberately went for pens confident in the belief that Colgan always had a chance to save one.

They played the football mate. Honestly. We probably had as many chances as them, I didn't count. But I do know who looked the better side for 80% of the game. Not that I care. We did it when it mattered, but if I'd been a neutral...
Some neutrals took an opposing view to your own But hey if we all agreed it would be very boring indeed!!

Hear Hear! Football's all about opinions. Well, scoring goals helps, but that's secondary in my book. It's a small book, though. And I spelt 'offside' wrong.
I'm wi Gaz. We were outplayed. We set off like we were gonna run away with it but after bright opening we kept giving stupid balls away. Could (probably should) have been 3-1 down at halftime (their lucky goals). Extra time was all them especially 2nd half ET. Them penalty shootouts, eh? Bad enough watching 'em on telly when your team isn't involved but when it's YOUR team and you ARE THERE! Jeez!
First 25 Initially all BFC. After faoolon's equaliziser (Reid's failure to mark properly) and Colgan's ****-up (POY LOL - who voted for him) -3 **** ups in last three matches, defnce lost confidence and we avoided mid-field, and hoofed it up the field. I have to sy (as at PNE) the penalty taking was superb. If only England's players had been as good in two major tournements.......
Mr Ritchie has a big challenge on his hands I agree that Trundle missed badly in extra time, but I Reid missed a bad one in normal time that would have won us the game (making extra time an irrelevance). Trundle was excellent (and so was Robinson). I thought it was a close game, but Swansea seemed physically stronger than us. I expected them to tire, but they didn't. I don't think Swansea were better "by far", but no complaints had they won the match. Are we back to being "battling barnsley" again? Next season, the majority of teams will be as good (if not better) than Swansea. Mr Ritchie has quite a job on his hands.
Last ditch defending has been excellent all season It's part of the game this year we have been superb at blocking out chances from the opposition.
