We didn't get anything from that game. You can take that as a testament to how well we played or what we could have done. Simply put, we didn't score when we had excellent chances where it was easier to score than miss. Second half we ran out if ideas and far too much went through the ineffectual Perkins. We needed to go more direct to rescue the game but if anything we went even more tippy tappy. Add to that a pappy effort from Cywka ably assisted by the equally pappy Perkins that led to their goal. I was a little bemused with the position Etuhu was playing in and his all round pappiness too. Credit to Mellon in changing the shape with the subs but we couldn't change the style. Other posters have commented on the deficiencies, certainly in an attacking sense, of both Kennedy and wiseman and I won't disagree. I'd be playing Digby in front of Perkins from now on. As to the decision who we get, I think the decision will be Mellon and I wish him well. Personally I'd be going for Warnock or Wilson as the ninth manager of the Cryne era.
Take it you were there, Redstar, and if so - credit to you. As a non away-going supporter (customer) it does sound depressingly familiar to a lot of our efforts this season. Good platform, but unable to capitalize (Brighton excepted, of course). I still have to ask, if we persist with Mellon, what can we expect to change? We made a big mistake cheesing off Mar Robins IMHO, and we've not righted the ship since.
Yes I'd say so based on first half but in second half we couldn't change our style. At least we had a go but there's too much tipp tapp for me.
Dunno about that. Dour bloke, dour football, wasn't up for the challenge, but doing well at the moment at a club with lots of money to spend.
Concern for me that if mellon gets it, who can he possibly attract to the club in Jan? He's not well known in this league and would not have access to the calibre of player say Neil Warnock could entice?
Thought we played well against a decent well organised team. We are still far too weak down the flanks
What did Robins achieve? Same as Davey, Hill and Flitcroft. He avoided relegation. He was also even more boring to listen to on Radio Sheffield tan Davey, and that took some beating.
We tried to do too much in the final third, our build up play is still too slow meaning we never get in behind, we could have easily been 2-0 up at half time today though. Also think Jim O'Brien should have come on earlier, we didn't make anything happen in the 2nd half until he was introduced Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
