For the first half hour, we attacked them well and deserved to be in front I think. Peterborough were always going to attack us, so going like for like was the option I hoped Hill would go for, and we got our rewards.

The red card - it looked to me like he got the ball, but it sounds from reading comments on here like I need my eyes testing. Great credit to Hill for the tactics after that though - it looked like his first instinct was to get Korey Smith on, but then thought we'd stand a better chance if we continued to have attacking threat. I think that decision was critical to us winning the game in the end.

Stephen Dawson was inspired in the 2nd half and really led the team through. Glad he got the man of the match award.

Special mention too for the two Scott's at full back, and for McNulty and Foster who defended magnificently and put their bodies in the way of everything. Button barely had a save to make in the end, despite countless good openings for the visitors.

The last result I would have predicted pre-match was 1-0, and in an odd way I think it might have been different if it had stayed 11 v 11, but we thoroughly deserved the 3 points for such a committed display.

I wish every game were as good to watch, and the crowd responding to the effort on the pitch made it even better.

Hopefully we can now play with a bit more freedom in the remaining games and carry forward some positives into the summer. They're all difficult matches so I expect some more defeats, but if they happen whilst playing at the tempo we did today then that's acceptable.

You could see it meant a lot to the lads at the end. Yooooooooouuuuuuu Reds.
